The new playscape for Northfield Elementary School was installed in October 2025 with help from my dear friend Brian Gulick.We brought the playscape up in pieces and the children watched us assemble the whole structure. I look forward to hearing what kinds of fun they create in their play.
This new playscape is similar to the one for pre-school kids at the Center School in Greenfield, but we have added art!! My wife Nan Salky completed a series of beautiful painted panels at the top of the playscape, which create a barrier to insure no one climbs over the top. The addition of colorful figures makes it even more inviting! Nan spent a good part of last summer making the beautiful painted panels, and has been an incredible support for me and all my work every day of my life!!
Nan is also an accomplished artist, and you can see her artwork in Shelburne Falls at the Salmon Falls Gallery as well as in Brattleboro, VT at Gallery in the Woods. Her artist website is:

I also want to thank Chris Hooper and the folks at Four Star Farm in Northfield, who hosted a fundraising event on October 12, 2025 in support of the Playscape Project. We raised enough for our next playground and then some!
