Agnes’s Playground

Our fourth indoor playscape was installed at the Center School in Greenfield, MA on August 19th, 2022. This playscape was dedicated to the memory of Agnes Gulick (1924-2022). Agnes loved children, and loved to share her cooking and crafting skills with her family and friends. She loved her home, a good story and a good joke, and kept her sense of humor through a long life.

Agnes was the mother of Brian Gulick, who has been a consistent supporter and contributor to this project. Brian has helped transport and assemble each of the playgrounds, and has also shared his design and construction ideas and expertise.

The teachers at the Center School were thrilled with the arrival of the playscape, and are excited to share it with the children when they return to school in September.

Each playground also includes a set of “Charlie’s Toys”, including a bottle baby truck, animal matching game, ball ramps and ball stomp. Thanks to Helen Murphy for the gorgeous animal paintings, and to Andy Beall and Liz Lacey who have volunteered to help make and assemble the toys.

I also want to thank Dan Dacri, who built me a wonderful studio space in my barn this past winter that allows me to work on these projects in a wonderful, clean and well lit workspace.
